On Tuesday, April 28, the Senate Public Safety Committee will hear Senate Bill 697.

SB697, authored by State Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-7), would prohibit the sale of handguns other than “owner-authorized (or ‘smart’) handguns” — that is, handguns with a permanent, programmable biometric feature that renders the firearm useless unless activated by the authorized user. No proven, viable handgun of this type has ever been developed. The bill would require the California Attorney General to report to the Governor and Legislature on the availability of owner-authorized handguns; once the Attorney General finds that these guns are available, only “owner-authorized” handguns could be approved for sale in California .

Please contact the Senate Public Safety Committee and respectfully urge them to oppose SB697. Contact information can be found below.

We just spent 5 hours sitting in the House Judiciary Committee hearing room monitoring the debate over passage of the so-called hate crime bill, H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. This legislation is designed to add “sexual orientation,” “gender” and “gender identity” as specially protected categories of persons under federal law.

During the debates between Republicans and Democrats, it became clear that Democrats were prepared to vote down every amendment offered by the Republican minority – and that’s what they did.

We were there to monitor the debate. Throughout the mark-up, we interacted directly with Members of Congress and their staffers on this dangerous legislation

Get Civilized! Get a Gun and Training…

As the Supreme Court hears arguments for and against the
Washington DC Gun Ban, I offer you another stellar example
of a letter (written by a Marine) that places the proper
perspective on what a gun means to a civilized society.

Read this eloquent and profound letter and pay close
attention to the last paragraph of the letter…

If you want be a true, civilized individual, then get your
gun and training at: http://www.frontsight.com/free-gun.asp

The Gun is Civilization by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another:
reason and force. If you want me to do something for you,
you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or
force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every
human interaction falls into one of those two categories,
without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively
interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid
method of social interaction, and the only thing that
removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as
paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You
have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have
a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound
woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year
old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang
banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a
carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes
the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers
between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the
source of bad force equations. These are the people who
think that we’d be more civilized if all guns were removed
from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a
[armed] mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only
true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed
either by choice or by legislative fiat–it has no
validity when most of a mugger’s potential marks are
armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic
rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that’s
the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even
an armed one, can only make a successful living in a
society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there’s the argument that the gun makes
confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in
injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways.
Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the
physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury
on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don’t
constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people
take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at
worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier
works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the
stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands
of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight
lifter. It simply wouldn’t work as well as a force
equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for
a fight, but because I’m looking to be left alone. The gun
at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded.
I don’t carry it because I’m afraid, but because it
enables me to be unafraid. It doesn’t limit the actions of
those who would interact with me through reason, only the
actions of those who would do so by force. It removes
force from the equation…and that’s why carrying a gun is
a civilized act.

By Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

WHAT IS YOUR REACTION
TO THIS
PICTURE?

My family grew up with guns; mine were pretend ones but I learned a healthy respect for my dad’s guns. We were not afraid of them.

We learned the gun’s value in protecting us through such pretend games as “cops & robbers.” Children can no longer play this game at school, nor is the “second amendment” revered as important to our Individual or National security.

With open borders, people sit idly by, mesmerized by their own apathy. Our Nation is a prime target for a major “take over” as we see adults and children shutter when they see a picture of a gun. Indoctrination of a “gun” being “bad” is predominating throughout America via all the channels of political correctness. In reality, guns save lives!

Many states, including California, will not allow citizens to carry guns for protection. Think of how many women and children’s lives could have been saved if they were carrying a gun. The states that do allow citizens to carry guns have seen reduction in crime rates. How sad that our Nation has turned its backs on guns for the real loss of life comes because there is no way for people to protect themselves.

In Switzerland, the citizen becomes part of the militia. They learn at early ages how to respect and use a gun. They know how to protect their land. In America we are not teaching our citizens one of the most privileged rights, a right to life, for we suppress the Second Amendment.

It is one of the “quietest” secrets in America, the fact that we have the right to protect our life and our land. Legislators instead focus on bills that will require all manufactures to place a serial number on each cartridge used in guns. It will effectively close down many gun shops for manufacturing companies cannot afford such a ridiculous business practice.

A minority is confiscating our guns and rights, but it is enough to rob us of our safety and cause devastation to us as a free people.

How do we deal with this infringement on our civil rights? We can begin by getting acquainted with the REAL STATISTICS on gun accidents. They are just this, accidents. More children drowned in swimming pools, toilet bowls, and buckets of water, than in accidental gun accidents. We don’t stop manufacturing these items nor do we make it unbearable for the corporate heads to continue their businesses. Gang wars and violence will not stop by banning the gun for gangsters or crazy people will only get them underground.

We must support education classes to teach our adults and children about guns. If sex-Ed classes are required to learn about the safety of sex, then classes should be required to teach gun use and safety. We must learn how to PROTECT our homeland by learning the proper use and handling of guns.

We must support legislation to back our Second Amendment Rights. Vote in leaders who understand this right and are willing to work for it and the security of our country.

With 3-5 million illegals entering each year, our Nation is at risk. With 10,000 murders committed by illegals since 9/11, there needs to be an outcry for our safety. If the government or towns we live in will not protect us, then we must learn how to protect our homes, our loved ones and ourselves.

The terrorists are watching carefully as America gives every indication that they are welcome to come in. They are watching silently as they plot and plan, not if they will attack again, but when?

Look at the gun picture again and remember that if someone were about to shoot your husband or children, what would you do without a weapon? Guns protect our loved ones and our homes. Be proud of our Constitutional and the Second Amendment Rights! Move forward to defend them across America.
